IB Project Due March 26th & Spring Concert Volunteers

IB Project - Due March 26, 2012
It’s that time again, time for another IB project.  This time the theme is “How we express ourselves”; they will express themselves by designing an Autobiography project. For the project they may complete the following activities:
1.       Create a PowerPoint presentation about themselves; a minimum of 10 slides are required.
2.       Song- They must write a song about themselves, they may use the music from actual song but they will need to change the words.
3.       Dance- They can choreograph a dance that represents their life and experience.  They will need to select music that reflects their personality and spirit.
4.       Artistic skills- Write a graphic novel, design a newspaper, develop a magazine, or draw a portrait and write an essay about their lives.

The projects are due Monday, March 26, 2012.
(Late projects will not be accepted)

Each student will need index cards and an index card holder beginning tomorrow.  We are practicing for the CRCT and will be making lots of flash cards.
Since the CRCT is quickly approaching we must utilize all instruction time for learning. I am suspending guided reading time with parents until after the CRCT. I appreciate all those that have participated and given of their time.

Bookclub Update

Hello Fellow Book lovers and Parents,
With a heavy heart and with sincere regret I must cancel book club. Due to my tutoring everyday after school, I will no longer be able to host the book club. I have enjoyed working with your children and sharing my love of reading with them.  I hope they will continue to read on a regular basis, finding new and interesting genres that are engaging and thought provoking.
As a parting gift, I am giving each student his or her own copy of the book “Old Yeller”.  I think it will be an enjoyable read for them.
I wish everyone well and a successful remainder of the school year.
Sincerely,
Ms. Lincoln
